Styles & Promotional Video

There are several different styles of promotional film, including "explainer" - which is often animated, but can be live action, there is a step by step visual representation of the message.

"Talking heads" - A talking head video is one where the main action involves someone just talking to the camera, either right into it or slightly to the side, interview style.

"Testimonial" - In short, a video testimonial is a video of a customer or client praising a company. In most cases, they talk about how that company's product or service has helped them solve a problem.

"Fiction" - Not real and mostly some type of advert.

"Charity" - Video is a brilliant medium for charities to tell their stories and spread the word about their causes. Nonprofits of all kinds are using video to campaign, fundraise and reach new audiences. A good video has the power to help people remember what you do long after they've watched it.

"Animation" - A simulation of movement created by displaying a series of pictures, or frames. Cartoons on television is one example of animation. Computers are one of the chief ingredients of multimedia presentations. ... Note the difference between animation and videos.

"Recruitment" - This consists of specific footage that appears to a target audience. Contrast between boring and fun/uplifting scenes, this to bring exposure and to try and get people to apply to businesses.

This video talks about different types and good examples of talking head videos filters in with the codes and conventions and is a good guideline for my promotional video.
