EVALUATION
Intro:
The project my group have been working on is a recreation of a scene in the film Alien (1979). The famous chest bursting scene in which the alien bursts out of the stomach of one of the characters in the movie. We are doing this project as it was a Tier 3 and we wanted a challenge to face so we came to tackle it, there is also a lot of fake blood which is fun and its a very intense scene. I was the director of the scene and had to keep everything in check, make sure it was running smoothly portray correctly. I was following the films scene and was guiding the technical crew and actors so they had an understanding of the role.

Pre-Production:
I was tasked with creating the shot list for the whole part of the film which gives a description of what is happening in the scene. It gives core guidelines to make the whole process run better and so people have a basic understanding on set of what the next shot is. Also on set I would have the scene running on a phone so the production could go back and look to get a real grip on the films angles and to follow that closely. A shot list is a document that maps out exactly what will occur and will be used in that particular shot, a checklist to prepare the set for the films expectations. The team went through the scene on a youtube video, and took a list of the props we will need, some of us made the Alien that is seen in the scene.

Production:
Being tasked as DIRECTOR in a group of 5 people, I had to understand the responsibilities of the role and had to organise the scene, make sure everything is there and that everyone completely understands the roles they've been assigned to.
The team weren't working well at the start and there was some confrontation but nearer the end of filming they started improving as a team and scenes started to fall in place nicely. I tried offering directions and tips to help and they have got more used to them now and they will work well if prompted and this will improve the production process as a whole.

Post Production:
This stage was better than the previous section, because it is very independent based work and we are not strangers to the software we used to edit on, which is Adobe Premiere Pro, of course there were many things I put into affect such as..... In the near future, there will be more skills that I can display, I could learn new effects, including audio ones, feel more comfortable with using green screen and how to cut and chop scenes together.

Evaluation:
The final product looks good, as we followed the shot list well and we had some good props to use, the start was a bit shaky and the teams time handling was not good enough and we didn't have everything laid out properly which caused a bit of tension and for some stuff being rushed. As this was a first project working with different people, some of the team weren't getting along well and there was some tension but nearer the majority coped and worked well to slot lasting pieces into place, which is the reason we have a good recreation scene with some understanding of scene lay outs and the shots used during filming.
